IAAS

Founded in 1957 in Tunis by 8 countries, the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences is at the moment one of the world's biggest student organizations and one of the leading agricultural student associations. IAAS gathers students studying, majoring or researching in agriculture and related areas like environmental sciences, forestry, food sciences, landscape architecture etc.

Its committees are now spread in universities in over 40 countries worldwide.

IAAS is a worldwide network of students in Agricultural and related Sciences. Its mission is to promote the exchange of experience, knowledge and ideas, and to improve the mutual understanding between students in the fields of agricultural and related sciences all over the world.

To do this, we organise activities like seminars, working camps, international meetings, exchange weeks, an international exchange program, small-scale development projects etc.

It's important to mention that all events and activities are entirely promoted, funded and organized by students.

IAAS Madrid is, so far, the only committee in Spain.

During past years IAAS Spain has organized different activities such as exchanges with other committees, like Zagreb (Croatia), Warsaw (Poland), Hohenheim (Germany), Zurich (Switzerland) and Leuven and Ghent (Belgium); several motivation weekends for exchange students and new members, English conversation courses, and much more.

Also, IAAS Spain has actively participated in the EDM (European Directors Meeting) in Sweden, WoCo in Chile 2013 and USA 2014, and has organized a seminar in Madrid with the topic 'The future of Common Agricultural Policy: Agriculture as a binding link'.
